Job Summary
The Field Operator (Data Coordinator) plays a critical role in the Impact Readiness Program (IRP) by conducting field-based data collection and ensuring the ethical, accurate, and timely handling of organizational assessment data. This role combines technical data expertise with strong communication skills to evaluate governance, operations, and infrastructure of partner organizations using ACT Foundation’s standardized frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
Field Data Collection
- Conduct on-site assessments using structured tools and interviews.
- Engage with partner organizations to gather primary data on their capacity, governance, and operations.
- Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity during all field visits.
Data Management
- Clean and upload field data to the approved system within 24 hours of collection.
- Maintain encrypted backups of sensitive documents such as personal or confidential information.
- Validate collected data against secondary sources to ensure integrity and accuracy.
Reporting and Support
- Provide regular updates to the MERL team.
- Support analysis and interpretation of field data for program reporting and learning.
- Escalate discrepancies or issues in data collection promptly.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in field data collection, preferably within NGOs, development programs, or research environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Microsoft Forms.
- High ethical standards and sound judgment in managing confidential and sensitive information.
- Fluency in at least one major Nigerian language (Hausa, Yoruba, or Igbo), with a strong advantage for rural fieldwork.
- Ability to resolve basic technical issues independently in field conditions.
- Proven experience in implementing research protocols and upholding data integrity standards.
- Familiarity with GIS tools such as QGIS, Google Maps, or Google Earth.
- Strong computer literacy, especially in spreadsheet and database management.
- Understanding of Nigeria’s development landscape, including relevant policies and community engagement dynamics.
